FAQs
What insurance are accepted?
We accept Anthem BlueCross/BlueShield Virginia, CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna.
How do In-network benefits work?
If your insurance company offers out in-network benefits, the best way to find out about coverage is to call your insurance company directly and ask the following:
Am I eligible for mental health insurance benefits?
What will my copayment be for psychiatric services?
How much is my deductible, and have I already satisfied that amount?
What is your cancellation policy?
To cancel an appointment, a minimum notice of 48 hours is required. Cancellations made after the 48-hour window will incur a fee of $75. Please be aware that insurance companies typically do not cover the expenses associated with missed appointments.
What is the first session like?
The initial evaluation lasts for one hour. During this appointment, we will engage in a thorough discussion, exploring your current issues, your personal history, and your treatment aspirations. By the conclusion of our first session, I will share my recommendations with you, which may include options such as talk therapy, conventional psychiatric medications, alternative therapies, or a blend of these approaches. Additionally, please be aware that insurance providers do not cover the fees for missed appointments.
What if I don't have a therapist?
We are pleased to collaborate with your current therapist in managing your psychiatric medications. By working together, we aim to understand you more fully, going beyond just the symptoms treated by these medications. With your consent, we will maintain open communication with your therapist to ensure a coordinated approach that prioritizes your well-being and offers you the highest quality of care possible.
What type of alternative treatments do you recommend?
We blend various approaches, including meditation, nutritional guidance, and holistic healing, alongside psychotherapy and standard medical therapies, to support your journey toward comprehensive well-being. For instance, we might suggest incorporating herbal remedies or dietary supplements as alternatives or complements to conventional psychiatric medications. Our practice includes teaching breathing techniques designed to calm both the mind and body. We promote the importance of regular physical activity, healthy sleep patterns, and adequate hydration. Additionally, we can connect you with our trusted colleagues for complementary treatments such as massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care, and personal training.
